This is a most enjoyable evening which offers an opportunity to give and receive recommendations for future reading. Unlike most book clubs each member brings along a book or books they have recently read and gives a short summary; this often leads to a discussion. We have covered a wide variety of books including classics, travel, religious, thrillers historical and autobiographies. Each member receives a list of titles and authors from the previous meeting. At the end of the evening, during refreshments, there is an opportunity to swap books and chat. There are between 8 - 12 members who attend regularly; new members are always welcome. We meet early evening at the Parish Centre once per month. We break for August and Christmas. |
