The group aims to enhance the liturgy through music for the benefit of the whole community.
Regular activities centre on the Family Mass on Sunday together with special occasions and ecumenical services.
There are both wind and string instruments, typically flutes, clarinets, violins and ‘cellos together with guitars and recorders.
Players range from beginning to very competent; ages ranging from seven to seventy. The group seeks to maintain its vibrancy by attending study weekends and has run a Parish Music Day to promote a wider understanding of the place of music in the liturgy. It is an ideal situation for the less sure to gain confidence in playing with a group and new members, especially adults, are always welcome.
The group usually plays on the first and third Sundays of the month with a short practice on an evening beforehand.
Contact D. Gregory on the number provided in the parish centre.
