The St Francis & St Augustine Youth Group is planning to re-commence (subject to leaders receiving their CRB checks) on Wednesday 12th May from 7.30pm to 9pm and is open to all youth from the Parish who are in the final term of Primary School 6 Year 6 through to the end of the Sixth Form. The Youth Group will run every fortnight, usually on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month, during Term-Time only. The Youth Group will initially be run on a pilot basis during the Summer Term in order to assess the numbers and ages of its members. Once the Youth Group is established it is our intention to run separate activities for the younger and older members, this will of course be subject to a sufficient number of leaders being able to attend the meetings. The weekly subscription is £1 on a pay as you attend basis and will cover refreshments and ad-hoc materials for activities.
Activities will include:- - Games such as table tennis, table football, football, rounders etc
- Arts & Crafts such as designing posters, designing T-Shirts, decorations for Christmas & Easter etc
- Themed Evenings such as ‘The World Cup’, ‘Aid for Haiti’ etc
- End of Term Party Nights with Karaoke & Pizza etc
- Discussions on topical issues for the older members
- Group Night Prayer, to be held at the end of each meeting
Once the Group is established it is also our intention to participate in the annual Diocesan Youth Events such as It’s a Knockout and the Viney Hill Camp and to run residential retreats to Soli House and/or Alton Castle, the two Diocesan Youth Retreat Centres
If you would like to join the Youth Group then with the help of your parents please would you complete the registration and consent form, a copy of which can be found on the Youth Notice Board at the entrance to St Francis Parish Centre or can be picked up and completed on the first evening. It is important that we know who your parents are so we would request that you introduce us to them when you register at this meeting. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday 12th May.
